Dwarf Baby Tears
Hemianthus callitrichoides
Linderniaceae

About
Dwarf baby tears, universally known as HC Cuba, is a Caribbean carpeting plant with the smallest leaves of any aquarium species, prized for the ultra-fine, velvety green lawn it forms across the foreground of high-tech aquascapes. It is demanding: only bright light, pressurized CO2 and a nutrient-rich substrate keep it creeping tightly and horizontally. In weaker conditions it grows tall and leggy or melts away, which is why it is reserved for experienced planted-tank keepers chasing an Iwagumi look.
Care
Plant tiny clumps into a nutrient substrate under strong light with pressurized CO2 and steady dosing. Provide gentle even flow and trim regularly to keep the carpet dense and low.
Diet
Feeds through both roots and leaves; a rich substrate plus consistent water-column dosing of macro and micro nutrients drives the tight, compact carpet.
