About
Cryptocoryne wendtii is a versatile Sri Lankan rosette plant available in green, brown and red forms, ideal for the midground of low-tech aquariums. It is notorious for 'crypt melt' - shedding all its leaves after being moved or replanted - but recovers reliably from its established root system within weeks. Once settled it is undemanding, tolerating low light and a broad range of water chemistry.
Care
Plant in substrate with root tabs and then leave it undisturbed; expect a melt after replanting followed by strong regrowth. Low light is fine.
Diet
A root feeder that responds well to root tabs and substrate nutrients; column dosing supports faster, more colourful growth.
