About
Bucephalandra is a slow-growing rheophytic aroid endemic to Borneo, prized for compact leaves in shades of green, blue and deep red often flecked with iridescent spots. Like Anubias it is an epiphyte whose rhizome is attached to wood or rock rather than buried, and it thrives in low to moderate light. Its slow growth demands patience and good flow to keep the leaves clean of algae.
Care
Glue or tie the rhizome to hardscape without burying it, keep light modest and flow gentle-to-moderate, and dose lightly. Patience needed - it grows slowly.
Diet
Feeds through leaves and roots from the water column; light, steady dosing and occasional CO2 intensify leaf colour.
